PRESS RELEASE FOR SEPTEMBER 30, 2018 SALE
 
William Jenack’s auction of September 30th will offer artwork from the 18th through 20th century, furnishings including Mid-Century and period, selection of bronzes, period Chinese ceramics, collection of archaic Islamic style faience bowls, Royal Doulton and Lladro porcelain figures, antique Oriental rugs and carpets, decorative accessories and the contents from the estate of a gentleman who was the last living member of one of the original inhabitants of Tuxedo Park, NY.
Furnishing to be sold include a Vamo Sonderborg teak Danish design executive desk with floating top, biomorphic burl wood table, Charles Eames style chair and ottoman, Federal inlaid mahogany butler’s chest of drawers, Hudson Valley painted pine hutch formally used at the Stage Coach Inn, Goshen NY, Mies Van Der Rohe design for Knoll Studio cream leather Krefeld sofa, Regency style inlaid mahogany extension dining table, set of (8) Queen Anne style carved mahogany dining chairs, Saarinen design pedestal table, American turned maple tester bed with trundle, Brayton International brown leather Club Grande lounge armchairs, Chinese Deco pear, rosewood and tulip wood dressing stand, Chinoiserie tilt top table, Sheraton mahogany bow front chest of drawers and a set of Emeco Navy style brushed aluminum chairs.
Artwork will include an oil on canvas portrait of a gentleman by Thomas Beach (English 1738-1806); oil on canvas laid on panel street scene by Walter Frederick Osborne (English 1859-1903); oil on panel 18th century Dutch School “Escape of St. Peter”; watercolor “Driving home for Glouster” by James M. Sessions (American 1882-1962); oil on canvas “Winter Castle Bolton” by George Graham (English 1881-1949); American School (20th century) oil on canvas schooner in heavy seas, signed R. Davis; pair of French 18th century oils on cradled panels court scenes; oil on canvas the broken toy by Fritz Sonderland (German 1836-1896); oil on panel “Flamme di Tokay Grapes” by Andrew John Henry Way (American 1826-1888).
For the Chinese collector Jenack will be offering sever period porcelain pieces including a ormolu mounted vase with Ch’ien Lung mark, Famille Rose decorated porcelain garlic form vase with K’ang Shi reign mark, Wu Sai decorated fish bowl with Wan Li mark, Famille Rose decorated rouleau vase with Ch’ien Lung mark, yellow ground decorated San Sai porcelain vase with Ch’ien Lung mark, porcelain chicken and rooster decorated cut with Ch’eng Hua mark, Lat Yuan period Holy Water vessel, San Sai coral ground porcelain vase with Wan Li mark, early Ching period archaic for flambe glazed elephant head mounts, intricately carved pale green jade censer of the Ching Period, Ming Period porcelain mystery pot with Husan Te mark and a turquoise glazed carved porcelain vase with Tao Kwang mark.
Other lots of note include an impressive 19th century French bronze and marble shelf clock, pair of silvered brass alloy herons, pair of vintage cast iron urn form planters, pair of cast stone recumbent lions, Pierre Leon Dusouchet Art Nouveau bronze dish, Modernist bronze of dancing figures, A. Manini Italian Art Nouveau bronze dish and a rare pair of Kent Staffordshire pottery figures of giraffe, 19th century.
